Overview. Manchester is located in Hillsborough County (33011). The population of Manchester changed from 109,620 in 2010 to 110,506 in 2016; a change of 886 (0.8%). The county population changed from 401,039 to 407,761, a change of 6,722 (1.7%) during the same period.

Manchester is located in the Manchester-Nashua, NH MSA (CBSA 31700). The CBSA population changed from 401,039 to 407,761 during the period 2010 to 2016, a change of 6,722 (1.7%) Among all 933 CBSAs, this CBSA ranked 132nd based on 2016 population, 211st based on 2010 to 2016 population change, and 400th based on 2010 to 2016 percent population change.

Race/Ethnicity. Based on the most recent ACS 2015 5-year estimates, the total resident population was 110,139. The population of one race include 86.4% White alone, 5.1% Black alone, 0.2% American Indian/Alaska Native alone, 4.6% Asian alone, and 0.0% Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander alone. The Hispanic population (of any race) was 8.7% of the total population. These characteristics are based on more detailed data in section 02.1 below.

Housing, Households, Economic Situation. Of the 49,073 total housing units, 45,145 were occupied housing units (households) or 92.0% of total units. Of the 21,391 owner-occupied units, the median housing value was $206,100. Of the 21,391 renter-occupied units paying rent, the median rent was $1,014. These characteristics are based on more detailed data in section 02.4 below.

Among the 26,042 family households, 10.7% had income below poverty level in the previous year. Among the total population, 15.0% had income below poverty level in the previous year. The median household income was $54,282 with median family income of $67,566. These characteristics are based on more detailed data in section 02.3 below.

Education. Of the 26,024 population 3 years and over enrolled in school, 11,040 were enrolled in grades K-8. Among the 76,083 population 25 years and over, 87.4% were high school graduates and 27.4% were college graduates. These characteristics are based on more detailed data in section 02.2 below.

Urban/Rural & Locale Code
The percent urban value in the Oveview is computed as the ratio of the population in urban census blocks to the total population in the area based on Census 2010 SF1.
