When examining the demographic-economic characteristics and patterns for a city/community, it may not be clear which geographies or subject matter options might be best ... or how to access/use those data. 2. Download the U.S. by City/Place 2017 GIS project fileset

... after completing the above steps, click File>Open>Dialog

Related Notes and Sections
1. For cities/areas 65,000 population and over, the extended/ACS demographic-economic characteristics are available from the ACS 1-year estimates.
2. The ACS data update annually. The ACS 2017 data will be released in September/December 2018.
3. For more more granular demographic economic data, block groups could be used rather that census tracts.
4. Use the CV GeoGateway feature to add other types of geography (e.g., detailed streets, block groups).
