Proximity CTS -- Customer Telephony Software and Database System

It works like calling for movie information on the telephone. Except these are your customers and
prospects and they are seeking information on stores that carry the products.
These people want to buy your products.
The Customer Telephony Software and Database System (CTS) provides
a means for your customers to
use their telephone to determine the nearest store carrying the your products based on the
caller's ZIP code and the store location ZIP code.
How You Benefit. Now you can let prospective clients call your designated phone number
where they can easily determine the store nearest them where your products are available.
They can receive store location and telephone numbers by telephone 24 hours a day.
You do not have to spend staff time answering questions that can be more efficiently answered
by CTS. Keep track of inbound ZIP codes and learn more about where your customers are located.
This can help you set priorities for new store locations to carry your products.
Operation. The software and database are installed on a PC (Win2K or XP).
The telephone line receiving calls from the customer is connected to the PC.
Upon receiving a call, the following sequence occurs:
- Answer phone
- Playback WAV file over phone line (greeting)
- Main Menu: playback WAV file over phone line (menu: 1=find store, 9=end call)
- Receive caller menu response (1=enter store find)
- Receive caller ZIP code
- Find nearest stores based on distance between caller ZIP code and ZIP codes of stores contained in the stores database
- Play Store Listings: Always play WAV for three closest stores
- Playback WAV file over phone line - store information WAV file
- Playback WAV file over phone line (menu: 1=find another store, 2=repeat store listing, 9=end call)
- Receive caller menu response
- If caller response 1 then go to main menu (excluding store just listed from search)
- If caller response=2 then go to play stores (enabling repeat of information)
- Thank you/acknowledgement and hang up phone
Complete System. A complete, fully functioning product (software, data, instructions) is
included with each system installation. The system is delivered in electronic form and includes:
- Software to operate functions described in Operation above.
- National ZIP code database containing ZIP code for all ZIP codes in the U.S. (each data record contains the ZIP code and latitude-longitude which is the basis of the distance computational algorithm)
- Greeting, menu, and Goodbye WAV files (may be re-recorded)
- 25 store WAV files (may be re-recorded)
Setup, use, and maintenance. To setup the system, the software and data are installed with a setup on a
PC and started. With an active phone line, it is then in operation.
A WAV file exists for each store location. To add a store, another WAV file is created.
The name of the WAV file has the ZIP code and the store code;
e.g., 2231278955 would indicate this is store #78955 in ZIP code 22312.
This design makes it easy to update one store, delete a store, or add a store.
The software creates a master list of stores. When a search is made, the master list is used in the search.
The appropriate WAV file is then located and played.
ZIP Code Database. The national ZIP code database is provided in a dbase structure.
It may be updated annually or as desired. Updates may be acquired from Proximity or other sources.
Rights and ownership. The materials are provided by Proximity under a perpetual use license.
