CommunityViewer GetWebGeoData An important feature of CommunityViewer is that it enables the user to download and make immediate use of map files in shapefile structure made accessible via Webservers. You can avoid the time consuming process of using a downloader and file expander by using the CommunityViewer GetWebGeodata operation. Invoke GetWebGeodata from the File main menu item. 
Shapefiles. Choose your preferred state and type of shapefile. In the following views, the desired shapefiles will be selected, downloaded to the local computer, and then assembled into a GIS project. Click on a GetWebGeodata graphic for a larger view. Get the U.S. by states shapefile 
Get the State by places shapefile (Idaho by places)

Get the County by tract shapefile (Ada County, ID) 
Get the County by Edges shapefile (Ada County, ID - streets) Many types of county shapefiles available. 
Done with GetWebGeodata, open the shpapefiles and create a project Add the U.S. by State, save as project, zoom to Idaho, set boundary color to blue; add state by county. 
Zoom to Ada County, add the county by tract shapefile, set boundary color to red. 
Further zoom in, add the county edge shapefile, set the query to streets only, turn on tract labels. 
Further zoom in, turn on street labels. 
Using the Identify tool, a mini-profile of a street segment 
Save the project. The project is now available for recall, use, and augmentation. |
