Notes about Using ACS

In this example, the ACS 2008 1-year estimates were used as this school district is over 65,000 population.  If the school district of interest is less than 65,000 population but over 20,000 population, the ACS 2006-2008 3-year estimates would need to be used.  If the district is over 65,000 population, the 1-year estimate is preferred to the 3-year estimate as it provides a more recent measure.

If the school district has less than 20,000 population, then no ACS data are available for the district.  The Census 2000 School District Special Tabulation estimates are available for all districts.
