The term metro as used here applies to metropolitan areas as officially defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. In general, metros are areas of large population concentrations comprised of one or more contiguous counties. MetroDynamics is focused on Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs).

No. While the focus is on enabling comprehensive metro analysis, this requires data for wide-ranging smaller geographic areas including cities/places, counties, school districts, census tracts, ZIP code areas.

Q. What subject matter are included in the database?

The primary subject matter include:

  • Demographic characteristics and trends
  • Economic characteristics and trends
  • Geographic infrastructure

Q. What are the time dimensions of the data?

Data are a mixture of annual and quarterly data.

Yes.
