Census 2000
& Updating Geodemographics

Using GIS and GeoDemographic Analysis

Participate in this workshop and learn how to most effectively use mapping and geographic information system (GIS) tools to develop compelling maps and perform geospatial analysis. Learn to effectively use the CommunityViewer (CV) GIS software for geodemographic mapping and analysis.

Create maps that appear the way you want them and convey your message most effectively. Learn how to use GIS tools to analyze patterns. Learn how to build and use map projects designed to meet your needs. Learn how to import and integrate geographic and subject matter data. Learn how to geocode your address-related data and then view those data in maps.

Who Should Attend

Participants are from public and private sector organizations including business, government, academia, associations and other entities. Participants include planners, journalists, students, information specialists, managers, analysts, statisticians, GIS specialists and others who need to better utilize data driven decision making tools. There are no prerequisites required for this session.

Bring Your Laptop

Participants will receive resource materials in advance of the workshop. Load the software and data onto your laptop and preview the materials before the workshop. During the session you will use the applications on your own computer. Upon return to your office, you will have the original resources, plus those you develop during the session, for your continued use.
