Unlike Census 2000, with Census 2010, there are no 2010 census tract (or higher level) data for the "richer" socioeconomic characteristics like income, employment, etc. The Census Bureau provides these data only from the 5-year rolling American Community Survey program.
•
ProximityOne Enterprise provides current estimates of these subject matter data at the tract and higher geographic levels.
While Census does make available downloadable summary data files (aside from FactFinder) , the user still needs to convert the data with specialized programs to enable the data to be accessible.
•
Census FactFinder downloads (differentiated from downloadable summary files) are severely limited in scope/size and only in Excel structure. For example, when downloading FactFinder census tract data, the data are only accessible in county by tract units, making it infeasible for many applications. Sub-census tract downloads are even more time consumptive.
•
ProximityOne Enterprise eliminates the need, time required and expense to process such downloads.
•
Even when users convert the Census downloadable data, access to organized presentation of the data remains a challenge.
•
ProximityOne Enterprise provides a data access and flexible data presentation framework.
Census provides no analytical or visualization tools.
•
ProximityOne Enterprise has built-in analytical and visualization tools.
•
Census provides no resources to aggregate data.
•
ProximityOne Enterprise has built-in data aggregation capabilities.
•
Users typically find the requirement to upload data into a statistical package.
•
ProximityOne Enterprise enables export for direct use of many statistical packages.
