Interactive Mapping with Google API and Shapefiles Pan/drag map with the hand tool. Use the - and + buttons to zoom-out and zoom-in. Mouse hover on a red marker to view the name and code of the district. Click a marker to view mini html table. Click on the bottom link in the mini html table to view a new Web page showing a list of schools in the district. Four other links provide access to demographic profiles for the district. The demographic profiles are generated by CV XE GIS school district analysis module in the form of XLS and RTF files. The mini html table provides a link for each file type. The RTF (rich text file) may be opened with Word, for example, and viewed as a document. These links illustrate the enabling ability to create and use html and access anything that is html accessible. Other links and html coding could be added. Click the X by the mini html page to close it. School district boundaries are displayed on the map as the Google API reads an XML file containing coordinates of the school district boundaries. The XML file was generated using the ProximityOne Shp2Xml software. The Shp2Xml software converts a shapefile to XML structure. Additional Information ProximityOne develops geographic-demographic-economic data and analytical tools and helps organizations knit together and use diverse data in a decision-making and analytical framework. We develop custom demographic/economic estimates and projections, develop geographic and geocoded address files, and assist with impact and geospatial analyses.
