Most of this section provides descriptions of shapefiles used in the CommunityViewer project fileset.

Augmented, improved versions of the December 2008 vintage Census Bureau MTAIP updated TIGER/Line shapefiles, are used in the project fileset (for all applicable layers). Minimal changes made to almost all shapefiles include:

•	Merging separate county files into statewide files

•	Clipping those shapefiles extending to 3-mile limit (most) to coastline.

•	Renaming, restructuring (e.g., name propercasing) and/or substitution of identifier fields

•	Addition of otherwise non-existent subject matter fields.

For census blocks, the Census 2000 vintage tabulation block boundaries are used.
