Using the Demographics

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

A school district can be thought of as a set of schools and teachers and administrators educating the students enrolled. But the school district is a part of a larger community as well.  Much is known about the characteristics of the larger community, and a standardized set of the most widely used population and housing items are contained a set of 4-part demographic profiles.  A partial display of the subject matter (total of approximately 600 items) in each of these profiles is provided below.  See http://proximityone.com/dp1.htm - dp4.htm (four Web pages) for a complete listing of items.  The comparative analysis view shows the same subject matter for Oneida City school district compared to the U.S.  Using the Proximity software, your school district could be compared to any district, county, or state in the U.S. using these data and profile structure.  These profiles provide a way to enable comparisons between your district and other districts that may give new insights to your school district community.
