Use of tax parcel data is becoming increasing important in school/school district analyses.  Tax parcel data in shapefile format are becoming more widely available.  They offer the ability to tie in frequently updated, very small area data.  It becomes feasible to think of attendance zones in terms of tax parcels.  This section illustrates how Proximity knits these data together with other diverse data

Harris County, TX Tax Parcels

The same Harris County, TX census tract used in an earlier section, 5550.00, is shown in the following view (green boundary).  Tax parcels are shown with orange boundaries.

Tract boundaries and roads shown in this view are based on the Census Bureau TIGER/Line shapefiles (December 2008 vintage).  Tax parcels are based on a Harris County assessor office shapefile.
