This section provides an overview of how the VDA Desktop software can be used to quickly build a map. For VDA Desktop all levels the map, and more, can be saved as a GIS project. A GIS project is a file itself that contains references to map files (shapefiles) located on your computer. Once a GIS project has been created and saved, it can be immediately opened with CV using the File>Open operation.
GIS projects may be made with Level 1, 2, or 3. You must Login to create a project. Note that Level 1 does not support saving a project.
In the following example, a project is created to view, map, geospatially analyze K-12 schools in Orange County, CA.
Files that are placed in the folder c:\vdagis\1 by the installer are used in this first example.
