Congressional District Income & Poverty Characteristics: 2009-2010
Among all congressional districts, the 2010 median household income ranged from $23,773 (NY16) to $105,560 (VA11). the 2009 to 2010 percent change in median household income ranged from -15.8% (MA08) to 11.2% (TX15). the 2010 percent families in poverty ranged from 3.0% (NJ07) to 36.8% (NY16) while the 2010 percent population in poverty ranged from 4.4% (NJ07 & CO06) to 38.9% (NY16). the 2009 to 2010 change in percent families in poverty ranged from an increase of 6.3% (MA08) to a decrease of 3.3% (TX20). The interactive ranking table presented below shows selected characteristics of households, families, income and poverty for 2009 and 2010 by congressional district. These data are based on estimates from the American Community Survey 2009 and 2010 1-year estimates. The 2010 data were released in September 2011 and will be updated with 2011 data in September 2012. Use the ranking table to rank/compare attributes (see list below ranking table) of interest.
