November 2024. Intercensal population estimates are developed by the Census Bureau using model-based methods. These annual time-series estimates are developed following a decennial census. These estimates are intended to provide more accurate estimates than provided by the previous annual, year-by-year, estimates. These estimates reflect the results of the 2020 decennial estimates.

These data are of primary interest in understanding population trends and year-to-year change. Those interested in modeling may find these data preferred to previously developed year-by-year estimates These estimates might also be preferred to previously developed year-by-year estimates when computing per capita measures such as per capita income.
