The scope of establishments included in the Major Retailer Stores Locations (MRSL) database is being expanded in 2013. Of the approximate 7.5 million business establishments in the U.S., 1.1 million are retail trade establishments. MRSL will evolve into the ProximityOne Establishment Database & Information System (EDIS). EDIS expands the scope of coverage of retail establishments included as well as adding other types of establishments. See distribution of establishments by sector by employment size class. The ProximityOne Major Retailer Store Locations (MRSL) is database that can help you learn about locations, patterns, and trends regarding major retailer stores. MRSL contains the latitude-longitude, address, and related information for every store for selected major retailers. The MRSL data are structured in a ready-to-use shapefile for immediate mapping, GIS applications and geospatial analysis. Use MRSL data on your computer with CommunityViewer GIS or your own software. Analyze major retail store locations in the context of your data and other data and patterns. Learn where these stores are located in your areas of interest. The very accurately coded geographic locations of the stores make these data unique. View store locations in the context of streets and associated small area demographics. See how areas of interest to you are changing by using these continuously updated data. Big Box Store/Market Area Analysis. Updated daily, view/analyze store locations including Wal-Mart, Lowes Stores, Home Depot, and Target. Use our unique BigBox Index, calculated at the block group (BG) level (210,000 geographic areas covering the U.S. wall-to-wall), to examine the combined BigBox Index with demographics for the immediate area or your custom defined site area. View demographic profiles for any block group area (such as one containing a MRS) or for any custom-selected set of block groups. Four profiles are displayed as summarized below. In each profile, individual block groups are summarized in columns with Area Summary columns at the far right. Update. New 2010-2016 demographic-economic estimates and projections integrated/coordinated with Census 2010 and American Community Survey data are available in early 2012. The annually updated 5-year estimates and projections are for geographic areas down to the block group and ZIP Code area levels. See details.
