May 2017 .. developing insights into how individual companies are performing, how companies relate to the industry or peer groups and how characteristics of businesses in a metro or other geographic area ... and how this mix is changing with quarterly updates. This section provides access to data on companies filing reports with the Securities & Exchange Commission. (SEC) via the interactive table. Data are derived from the SEC EDGAR (Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval) system that performs automated collection and processing of report submissions by companies required by law to file forms with SEC. Data accessible through EDGAR are difficult to access in a manner suitable for analysis. A user cannot, for example, access a data record showing quarterly time series revenues (or any other measure) by company for even one year.

This section provides unique tools and data to analyse and access additional business infrastructure and operating characteristics of companies filing 10-Q and 10-K reports (see terminology). Data provided in the interactive table below provides quarterly data for all SEC 10-Q and 10-K filers and access to quarterly and annual financial statements. Data presented in the table are based initially on "annual and quarterly financial statement (AQFS) files" developed and released quarterly by SEC. ProximityOne creates a continuously updated set of quarterly filing data. See terms of use. See about related sections/resources below.

Using the Interactive Table
Use the interactive table below to view, query, rank, compare companies. This table presents the AQFS augmented data by quarter for 5 quarters 2016q1 through 2017q1. 2017q1 is the most recent quarter available. In July 2017, the 2017q2 data will be added. The present structure ensures that the 10K report data are accessible through this table.

Subject matter columns included in the table are shown below.

If there are no other co-registrants (i.e., nciks=1), the value of aciks is NULL. For a very small number of filers, the list of co-registrants is too long to fit in the field. Where this is the case, PARTIAL will appear at the end of the list indicating that not all co-registrants' CIKs are included in the field; users should refer to the complete submission file for all CIK information.

Forms and Terminology
The Form 10-K is an annual report required by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that gives a comprehensive summary of a company's financial performance. The Form 10-K generaly differs from the "annual report to shareholders" which a company must send to its shareholders when it holds an annual meeting. The 10-K includes information such as company history, organizational structure, executive compensation, equity, subsidiaries and audited financial statements.

The Form 10-Q is an quarterly filed quarterly with SEC. It contains similar information to the annual form 10-K. The information is generally less detailed and the financial statements are generally unaudited. Information for the final quarter of a firm's fiscal year is included in the 10-K, so only three 10-Q filings are made each year. These reports generally compare last quarter to the current quarter and last year's quarter to this year's quarter. The form 10-Q must be filed within 40 days for large accelerated filers and accelerated filers or 45 days after the end of the fiscal quarter for all other registrants.
